An Adaptive Matrix Method for the Solution of a Nonlinear Inverse Heat Transfer Problem and Its Experimental Verification

An adaptive matrix inverse (AMI) method is presented to identify the temperature and unknown boundary heat flux in a domain of regular or irregular shape with temperature-dependent properties. The nonlinear problem broken down into number linear submodels, for each submodel, obtained measuring points. Next, based on matching degree between temperatures measured calculated by prediction submodels are weighted combined create full model solution an transfer problem. Comparisons also made existing multiple (MMAI) algorithm Levenberg–Marquardt (LMA). results numerical tests undisturbed disturbed “measuring” data indicate that fluxes identified AMI close exact values. application bodies demonstrated. has been experimentally verified during thick-walled cylinder cooling process. proposed can be applied online diagnostic systems thermal state monitoring.
